NorthStar has developed two proprietary, non-uranium-based methodologies for producing Mo-99, which do not result in any high-level radioactive waste.
Long-term NorthStar has developed a production process that uses linear accelerator technology, rather than a nuclear reactor. The manufacturing facility will be built in Beloit, Wisconsin. At full operational capacity, we expect to produce 50 percent of the Mo-99 required by the U.S. market.
Short-term NorthStar has partnered with the Missouri University Research Reactor (MURR), one of the most reliable reactors in the world. We expect to begin commercial Mo-99 production at MURR in the near future, and to achieve quantities for 3,000 six-day Curies of Mo-99 per week shortly thereafter.
